PR: Bailey One Win From Glory

Press Release 05/06/07

Warriors Boxing is unquestionably one of the hardest working promotional houses, churning out a deluge of press releases on their fighters. I elect not to feature them all, after all they appear on every boxing media outlet available, but news of Randall Bailey’s opportunity to snatch some autumn glory from his long and winding career appealed to me. The release provides detail to Bailey’s fight with Herman Ngoudjo in an IBF Light-Welterweight title eliminator on Friday night.

HOLLYWOOD , FL , June 5 – Two-time world junior welterweight champion Randall Bailey has put in the long hours in the gym and has done his job in spectacular fashion when the bell rings.  Now, after a two year, seven fight winning streak that includes five knockout victories in a row, Bailey is one win away from a shot at regaining his title and once again ruling the 140-pound division.

But to get that shot, Miami, Florida’s Bailey must get through tough Canadian contender Herman “The Black Panther” Ngoudjo (15-1, 9 KOs) Friday night in a 12 round IBF elimination bout in Ngoudjo’s hometown venue, Uniprix Stadium in Montreal.

“It’s been a hard road back, but I feel great and I’m ready to take out Ngoudjo and get my title shot,” said Bailey, a former WBO and WBA champion who has put together a 35-5 (32 KOs) record over his 11-year career.  “Ngoudjo’s tough and he’s fighting in his backyard, but he’s never faced a puncher like me and once we’re in the ring, it’s just me and him, so I’m gonna show him who’s boss.”

Bailey-Ngoudjo will be televised live in the United States on ESPN2’s Friday Night Fights beginning at 8pm ET / 5pm PT.
