Froch is a legitimate threat even at that level. He can crack, has a good engine, a solid beard.

Weaknesses, the classic slow start and carrying his left too low for his reflexes to cover.

He gets cracked a lot with the right and against Pavlik he may discover the reality of life at elite level.

I do however, believe Pavlik's ponderous movement would play into Froch's hands. Froch is a diligent professional, will do his homework, be supremely fit and would cause both problems, if the fights came off.

David,

How do you rate Froch? Being on the other side of the ocean, he's an unknown quantity over here. How do you think Froch would do against, for example, Jermain Taylor or Kelly Pavlik ?

Colin is one of my favourite fighters CB. I really warmed to him during his defeat to Malinga and I've been thrilled by his success since.

Lacy is a subdued, ponderous 31 year old now. He's being rocked and rolled by fighters a step down from the elite.

Taylor should be able to outmanoeuvre him with ease.

I think Froch is fresher, having not been in any wars and turned pro late at 25 following life in 'civilian street'.

Lacy was never that good in the first place, unlike Froch who medalled at the amateur finals, Lacy was an olympian who did nothing.

Lacy picked up a vacant title over Rubin Williams (7 round tko) and he really should have took Williams out of there much quicker.

The thing is nowadays, Lacy is a broken man. The mind is such an important tool in boxing - just look at the impact of Colin Lynes's father being ill with cancer, he KO'd young mutley and has been sensational, having dedicated everything to his father. Colin has left all burden behind him knowing there are more important things in life.
